When it comes to overall versatility, the bucket wins, hands down - maybe only bested by duct tape. A bucket can be used as a tool box, hunting or fishing caddy, chair or cooler. You can haul virtually anything in them and if you “google” 5-gallon bucket uses, the world wide web has a pretty big imagination for various bucket applications.
Although a bucket is a rather rudimentary tool, its versatility has inspired a whole other spin-off market for bucket accessories. Drop in caddies and organizers to sort your stuff inside the bucket, bucket belts that secure to the outside to provide both inner and outer storage, stationary and swivel seats so you can make a chair out of them and more. Without hesitation, the 5-gallon bucket makes my Top 10 list of most essential tools.
For hunters and anglers, there is a certain amount of gear required for any outdoor pursuit. You can pick up backpacks, tackle boxes or other gear storage devices, there are plenty of great choices out there. However, you can also drop just $5 on a Bass Pro Shops 5-Gallon Plastic Bucket and you’ll have a place to put all your gear and a chair to sit on while you’re hunting or fishing. Win-win.
What can you say about a 5-gallon bucket that you don’t already know? The construction is fairly simple, however for those that need to know, here are the stats of the Bass Pro bucket:

It is worth noting that there are some fancy 5-gallon buckets out there that have rubber stoppers on the bottom, finger molded handles and other features. I’m sure they are great buckets, but they are also going to set you back a lot more money. These fancy buckets range in price from $40 to over $100 a piece. That means you could buy up to 20 or more Bass Pro Shops buckets for the price of just one fancy bucket. Personally, I don’t need a Cadillac, I just want something that will haul my stuff around adequately. And for just $5, if something happens and it cracks or breaks, these buckets are inexpensive to replace.
