By nature, we outdoor enthusiasts are adventurers. We’re always looking for new territory to explore and when it comes to off highway vehicles off-road performance, capability and reliability, are high priorities. The new Yamaha Wolverine X4 delivers on all of the above and in addition, throws you the bonus of comfort.
Starting with the heart of the machine, the Wolverine X4 is powered by an 847cc, parallel-twin engine that delivers plenty of power, but was also engineered for a smooth and quiet ride. When paired with Yamaha’s Ultramatic® transmission and On-Command 4WD, you get immense capability and control that allow you to navigate virtually any terrain. The Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle, a drive-by-wire system, gives the driver precise throttle control and smooth power delivery. Advanced self-leveling shocks not only provide a smooth ride, but also help maintain optimal ground clearance that is specific to the cargo or passengers you are hauling and the terrain you are traversing.
While many Side-by-Sides are well known for their large footprint, the Wolverine X4 counters that with a compact and nimble chassis. This smaller frame delivers with superior maneuverability and allows drivers to navigate tight trails with ease. While its overall size is not that big, the engineers at Yamaha still found a way to seat 4 people very comfortably in the X4. The X4’s 4 bucket seats are so comfy that they eliminate that numb butt feeling after a long day of riding. The rear seats not only sit slightly elevated for a better, unobstructed, view over the front passengers, but the seats are also positioned on tracks which allow them to slide forward when not occupied for increased cargo room in the bed. The bed can handle up to 600 pounds of gear, in addition the Wolverine X4 itself which can tow an impressive and very capable 2,000 pounds. That’s more than enough power to haul out the heaviest of big game animals from the woods, as well as all your gear in tow.
If you’re wanting to make your Wolverine X4 a year-round work horse, there is also an optional full hard cab enclosure with an automotive-style glass windshield, sliding door windows, an integrated windshield wiper and washer, gas lift-assisted rear window, and locking doors and windows with a host of other options.
