This is a show the whole family can watch, and that’s a bit of an exception today because not all television is that way. “Hollywood Weapons” is fun, exciting, entertaining and appropriate for all ages. Terry says his background as a Green Beret is something he’s proud of. It shaped him, and his never quit attitude and he hopes a little of that shines through in the show. Even more, he hopes that people see, in everything he does, he likes to have fun. He talks about having a sense of humor and being able to make people laugh, whether he was doing it as an A-Team leader in the Special Forces or on television today, the ability to put a smile on someone’s face is something he enjoys and something he hopes carries through to “Hollywood Weapons”.
The last two seasons have been full of widely recognized show scenes like that of James Bond, Quigley Down Under, Jaws, Die Hard and many more. But, how do they go about choosing what shows and scenes to feature? Terry says that viewer feedback really drives the show. Emails, messages and comments on social media are taken into consideration and then Terry, co-host Larry Zanoff and the rest of the “Hollywood Weapons” crew can talk about the feasibility and execution of the scene. Terry says that there would be no “Hollywood Weapons” without co-host Larry Zanoff. Terry is the crazy personality and Larry is always the adult in the room. An Israeli Defense Forces veteran, Larry too has combat experience. Together, Terry says they can really rely on each other and trust each other throughout each test they do for the show. Terry says that “Hollywood Weapons” is about more than just testing stuff. Instead it loops in theatrics and entertainment and creates a show that is for everyone, instead of limiting it to just a gun specific audience. Guns are just a tool, Terry says. They are useful, lawful tools that get a lot of negative exposure in news and are also used in highly charged political debates. However, guns are also staples in film and television. By showcasing firearms in the way they do, emphasizing safety and marrying it with entertainment, “Hollywood Weapons” appeals to both gun lovers and those who are on the fence about them at the same time. Terry says that he hopes that they are able to bring more people into the fold and help them realize that guns are not “scary”.
Terry will briefly highlight a few upcoming episodes of “Hollywood Weapons” including scenes from “Starsky & Hutch”, “Breaking Bad” and the 1994 movie “The Shadow” where two rivals shoot at each other, but their bullets collide and fall to the ground. While he can’t give away the results of that test, Terry says it’s a must see. He’ll also tease some surprise guests, not from Hollywood, but from his special forces career that will make an appearance in this season.
Be sure to tune in for a fun interview with the man himself, Terry Schappert, right here on The Revolution. Remember, the show is viewer driven, so leave your ideas on social media for the “Hollywood Weapons” crew to test!
