- Weber iGrill
Calling all grilling enthusiasts, this one's for you!
Perfectly grilled food doesn’t happen by accident, and wild game can be even tougher because of its lean nature. Achieving the right “doneness” takes a little know-how. There is nothing sadder than a dry, shriveled up, hunk of meat. At one point, it had so much delicious potential, but somewhere along the way you overcooked it and were left with an identifiable rubbery piece of meat in an unappetizing shade of gray or black! Long story short, it’s ruined. Chin up buttercup! Mop up your tears with a basting brush because the iGrill from Weber has your back and won’t let you over or under cook your meat ever again.
Available in 3 different models, the concept is the same. Download the free iGrill app to your smartphone. From there you can select the kind and cut of meat you’ll be grilling or smoking. Insert the probe in the meat. The iGrill will tell you what temperature that your meat currently is and the temperature it needs to reach in order to achieve the right level of doneness. It monitors all of this info throughout the cook process in a really user friendly interface on your phone. You can also set up custom timers to remind you to check, baste, wrap, season, etc. It will alert you when your meat is close to being finished and can also monitor the temperatures inside your grill or smoker to make sure they don’t get too low or too high.
Weber has so many cool grilling accessories, but if I had to pick just one, the iGrill would be my choice, it’s a rockstar! - Cabela’s Stack Shooting System
Shooting bags are one of those pieces of gear that seem insignificant until you really need them. Whether it’s at the bench or in the field, having a solid rest is really important for accuracy. While a lead sled is great, it’s not a very portable solution. That’s where bags really shine. You could whip up a DIY shooting bag, OR you could just order some from Cabela’s!
Cabela’s has several different options that are good choices. From their Filled Shooting Bags to their Triple Play Bench Bag Set, both fill the bill and will do exactly what you need them to do. However, they have another option, the Cabela’s Stack Shooting System. This set includes three filled bags, but also features three foam sections. The combination of both bags and foam will help you accommodate different height combinations. The foam sections are smooth and padded for stability and comfort. The bottom bags are slip resistant, so you won’t have to worry about your rest moving with recoil or other subtle manipulations. The system is versatile, allowing you to move the bags around for various different configurations and one that best suits your setup. This would be a great gift for your favorite shooter. - CINCH Base Layers
Stock up on t-shirts and underwear!
CINCH’s boxer briefs do all the things you need them to, but don’t want to talk about. They have no-ride legs seams which eliminate the need to yank the legs on your briefs down constantly which also eliminate the dreaded wedgie. They have a jacquard waistband that is thick but soft, so it doesn’t rub your waist raw, plus they are tag free. CINCH’s boxers are lightweight and have four-way stretch so they are supportive but not confining. And lastly, but certainly not least, let’s talk swamp butt. These undies are moisture wicking and have a magical antimicrobial treatment that helps your butt breath so that the deer, elk or whatever game you are going after don’t smell you first!
CINCH’S Athletic Tees aren’t your regular cotton t-shirts. These CINCH Athletic tees come in three different colors - black, white and gray - and are made of a poly tech, stretch material. They layer really well under anything and are moisture wicking, as well, which keeps you cool on hot days and helps you eliminate moisture build up even as you sweat under all your gear on cold days. - Cabela’s TrailGear 2 Floor Liners by WeatherTech
I’m a hunter and outdoorsman. I don’t mind the leaves, dirt, mud, grass, snow, blood - it’s all a part of it. However, I’m presented with a bit of a pickle when it comes to my truck because I like to keep it spiffy. When I’m through with a hunt, I want the mess to stay outside. The bulk of the mess that you are going to introduce to your vehicle is going to come in on your feet. So, having some good coverage on your floorboards is key!
Cabela’s and WeatherTech teamed up and that collaboration gave birth to the TrailGear 2 Floor Liners. What I really like about these is their substantial presence. These aren’t small mats that leave a lot of the carpet exposed, these are large and in charge and cover almost every square inch of carpet. Who else finds it annoying when their floor mats catch debris directly under the pedals, but neglect to protect the carpet between the threshold and floor mat? Mud is a pain in the butt to scrub out of the floor, and it’s even worse when you get small rocks, sand and even stickers embedded that you have to yank out, too. The Cabela's TrailGear 2 Floor Liners® By WeatherTech® bridge that divide and catch your foot debris helping you avoid cleaning this small area. Plus, they thought about how to best control the mess beneath your feet by designing the mats to direct the crud away from your boots, so you won’t splash and smear the mud, water and dirt beneath your feet for the duration of the drive. You can get these for your front seats, rear seats and even cargo area. You don’t just have to be a hunter to appreciate crud control in your vehicle, these are super practical for any driver! - Cabela’s Alaskan Guide Series Small Vantage Folding Knife
Everybody should have a good everyday carry pocket knife. I don’t leave home without mine, my wife keeps one in her purse and my kids each have one of their own. A knife is one of those tools with endless uses, you’ll never regret having it in your pocket.
The Cabela’s Alaskan Guide Series Small Vantage Folding Knife by Buck Knives is cost effective and tough. I have multiple knives from this series, but as an everyday carry it’s a solid choice. It’s small and low profile with a blade length of 2.63” and a closed length of only 3.76”. It has a fine-edged, drop-point blade made of super tough steel which results in a wicked sharp edge, excellent edge retention, flexibility and hardness. It has a cherry wood colored handle, a clip and liner lock for safety. This is a gift that won’t get tossed in a drawer to sit and rot away, it’s functional and will get a lot of use. If you aren’t gifting it to someone else, then gift it to yourself! - Sticky Holsters
Sticky Holsters are IWB holsters with no loops or clips. They stay securely in your waistband with the combination of a non-slip material and pressure provided by your pants. The holster is padded, and the material is soft so it’s comfortable against your skin and you won’t have any hard edges poking you. Being loop and clip free you don’t have to worry about wearing a specific pair of pants or belt in order to make it function properly. Its versatility makes it easy for left and right-handed carriers in virtually any position around the waistband, in your pocket or in their modular ankle and travel carrying systems. It’s a holster that accommodates any lifestyle and gives you versatility in the way in which you want to carry. Not only are Sticky Holsters made in America, but they are also super affordable. - Kids Compound Bow
Archery is an expensive sport to get into, especially when you’re outfitting a kiddo who you aren’t sure will stick with it! However, there is a way to get kids into archery without breaking the bank. Bear Archery has several youth compound bow packages available for right around $50. The Bear Archery Brave Flo Green Compound-Bow Package also comes in black, pink, camo and orange and you can pick them up at Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. This package is designed for kids 8 years old and up, fitting draw lengths from 13.5” to 19” and draw weights of 15 to 25 pounds. It has a 65% let off to encourage steady aim and accuracy. The package comes with two arrows, an armguard, quiver, finger tab, rest, one-pin sight and more. This is a great and cost-effective way of introducing kids to archery without emptying your wallet completely. - DON’T FORGET STOCKING STUFFERS!
Toothbrushes, socks, underwear, deodorant - these are all of the usual suspects when it comes stocking stuffers. Those are fine; however, I have something that I guarantee any outdoorsman or woman would rather pull out of their stocking. Ratchet Straps! Hell yes. More specifically, a Cabela’s 15’ Ratchet Strap. I’m completely serious. Just like socks, you can never have too many ratchet straps, and there are a million uses for them. I have a large toolbox in my shop dedicated to ratchet straps of various sizes, one for every occasion. Pick up this 4-pack for only $25!
That about wraps it up...no pun intended! Get out there and finish up your shopping so you can get back to hunting y’all. Merry Christmas and I hope Santa is good to you!
