Auto makers are always adding new and improved features to their vehicles to keep people safer – air bags, sensors, cameras, the works. However, one area that we can better protect ourselves is with sturdier bumpers. Bumpers aren’t bullet proof, in fact, with many of them being constructed from plastic materials or fiberglass they are very likely to crumble, crack and break in even a small collision. Ranch Hand front and back bumpers are made from steel and provide extra support and protection to both ends of your vehicle. The steel is much more capable of standing up to more aggressive collisions, whether it’s with another vehicle, a boulder, tree, animal or even a light pole in the grocery store parking lot. Jerry says that Ranch Hand is known for the tight fit of their products. These aren’t one size fits all bumpers and grille guards that have to be modified in order to fit your vehicle. They customize each grille guard and bumper to mimic the lines of the truck – make and model – so that it matches and compliments your truck or SUV. In addition, the installation process isn’t complicated and can be handled by any of the Ranch Hand dealers across the country. Or, if you feel capable and you have the right tools and a few friends, you can install yourself. We’ll also take a look at Ranch Hand’s running steps. Jerry will talk us through the different features of the Ranch Hand running steps, their deeper fit and unique punch plate pattern on each step that matches the grille pattern of the truck brand. It not only looks great, but it also allows dirt and mud to fall through the step which helps to avoid a mud build up on the step and also creates a safer, more slip free surface for the occupants.
There may be a misconception that grille guards and bumpers are just for off-roaders and those that like to get a little mud on the tires. However, that assumption is off base. Grille guards and bumpers aren't just for people who live in rural areas, they aren't just for farmers and ranchers and they aren't just applicable for outdoor lovers like myself. Daily drivers, dwellers of the concrete jungle, navigators of busy freeways, those that may never venture off the pavement - this group of drivers can also benefit from the installation of Ranch Hand accessories. Jerry illustrates the important safety role a Ranch Hand bumper can have for a daily driver as he talks about their Impact Tour - a traveling trailer exhibit with a 3/4-ton Chevy that was involved in a significant accident. Jerry will describe the dramatic crash that led to the driver, Seth Spiker, plummeting off of a 40-foot overpass ramp after losing a tire where he ultimately landed on his Ranch Hand bumper and amazingly, walked away with only minor scrapes in an accident that could have had a far worse outcome. Jerry will also highlight upcoming dates for the Impact Tour so people can go see this exhibit in person and even get the chance to meet and talk to the driver of the truck that is featured.
Be sure to tune in this week as we talk accessorizing your truck for safety with durable, quality, and good-looking Ranch Hand grille guards, bumpers and running steps with Jerry Courtney.
