After an 8-year hiatus, Ford is bringing back the Ranger in a big way to fill the demands from the midsize space. A lot has changed since you’ve seen the Ranger, it has been completely reinvented and redesigned. The all-new 2019 Ford Ranger is a midsize pickup, but it’s larger than the previous generation Ranger, and is sporting some impressive upgrades. Chad Callander, Ford Ranger Marketing Manager, is here this week to introduce us to 2019 Ford Ranger.
The 2019 Ford Ranger is both powerful and strong. It has a high-strength steel frame, a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Chad says that this is really the perfect drivetrain for this truck – drivers get the best of both worlds with the fuel economy and efficiency of a four-cylinder, but the power and performance of a six-cylinder. The Ranger’s body is rugged and tough as well. In addition to the steel backbone, the Ranger also has frame-mounted steel front and rear bumpers. The FX4 Off-Road Package adds another layer of toughness for those of us who need a truck that isn’t afraid to get dirty and can get us to our hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor destinations, with ease. For the FX4 Off-Road Package, Ford has optimized the ground clearance for traversing uneven terrain, given it an off-road suspension system, all-terrain tires, skid plates to protect the undercarriage and heavy gauge steel front bash plates that offer protection in front to the engine compartment. Working in tandem with those features is the Terrain Management System that allows drivers to dial in their driving mode – normal; grass, gravel and snow; mud and ruts; and sand. This intuitive system automatically adjusts to achieve ideal traction, driveability and performance in any terrain or weather. In addition, the Ranger comes equipped with electronic shift-on-the-fly in 4x4 models.
Ford is well known for the “Built Ford Tough” mantra, however Chad tells Jim and Trav that it’s not a tagline but rather a philosophy for how Ford builds their trucks – designed, engineered and tested to live up to the demands of drivers. Chad will talk about the rigorous testing that the all-new Ford Ranger went through to earn the “Built Ford Tough” stamp of approval. He’ll also walk us through the 3 different model options as well as the available features and technology built into the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger.
Join us this week and get a first-hand look at the exciting return of the Ford Ranger.
