Survival guru Tim MacWelch is back with a new book to add to his in-depth survival collection titled, 'BEAT THE ODDS: SURVIVAL MANUAL: Real-Life Strategies for Surviving Everything from A Global Pandemic to the Robot Rebellion". The book covers a wide array of topics like civil unrest, pandemics, famine, natural disasters, mass transit disruption, grid failure, artificial intelligence takeover and a slew of other unsettling scenarios. While putting together the book, Tim says he had no idea how close to home all of this information was going to hit and how relevant it would become.
Picking a topic from his book, Tim talks civil unrest. How can you prepare for civil unrest and how should you react? He says the most important thing a person can do is get off the 'X" or get away from the center of that unrest. If you live in the country or in rural communities that aren't heavily populated, this likely won't be an issue you face. However, cities are another story and in areas with dense populations situations can get out of control quickly. It can be a political event, sporting event or some other scenario where a mob mentality rises and takes control – it's important to get out of there, get 'left of the boom", he says. Removing yourself from a situation like that is often easier said than done. For people who live, work and have created a life in densely populated areas it would require relocating, changing their lifestyle and living a different way. It's all about risk assessment at that point, understanding the risks in your area and if you choose to stay, knowing when and how to deal with them.
Listen in as Tim MacWelch talks about his new book, 'BEAT THE ODDS: SURVIVAL MANUAL: Real-Life Strategies for Surviving Everything from A Global Pandemic to the Robot Rebellion". It's important to remember that history tends to repeat itself so it's crucial that people learn lessons from the experiences they are living through now. Check out the book!
