What are you and your loved ones going to drink in the wake of a real life disaster scenario? Not bean juice from your three cans of lima beans. And how are you going to cook when your propane grill runs out of gas? These are the real life, day-to-day problems in a disaster, not shooting zombies.
Wouldn’t it be better to plan for the most likely natural disasters and terrorist attacks? Personally, I’m not too worried about the long shot scenarios and the least likely situations. For example, volcano preparedness and alien invasion survival tactics are pretty low on my list (like not even on my list). I’m worried about how I’ll provide heat if the utilities go down, and how I’ll cook when my family gets hungry. Water is also a huge concern. We store water, so we always have some ready to drink, plus we have multiple ways to filter and disinfect more water when the jugs run out. And this all starts at home – not in a bunker deep in the wild. Home is where your skills and supplies will most likely be needed in a crisis, and home is where preparedness should start.
Be safe out there and God Bless!
