He also stated that I should say, “administrative assistant in lieu of secretary because the term secretary has an unfavorable history of being a remedial, simple job!” Newsflash, writer dude, you might have changed the name but the position, itself, hasn’t! And let’s face it, when it’s all going to hell, at the office, and the phones are ringing, e-mails are piling up, deals are being made while meetings are being canceled, secretaries stay calm, collected and keep the whole damn thing afloat, not the CEO’s. So why are we doing this, just to feel better about ourselves? No! It’s because the American mentality has shifted from a strong foundation of family morals with an honest work ethic of unity and progression, to a spoiled generation of coddled babies that are over rated and educated and we’ve handicapped our children’s abilities, and common sense, with our constant teacup handling and worshiping. It’s simple, we gave them an inch but willingly, signed off and, okayed a mile! Now, I am a staunch supporter of the 1st Amendment but I sometimes wonder if there should be a stipulation to it – like, it doesn’t apply if you’re stupid! Because I don’t care how you word or package a turd, when the day is done, it’s still a turd, needs to be flushed and smells like one, too. So, while some take offense to the reference of killing a deer, and would prefer a bit more tactful approach by using the word harvest, it doesn’t change the outcome of the situation, or that fact, that the deer, is officially, dead. Conclusion, offenses are always taken, not given, and don’t be the tempted bass that buys into their junk fishing tactics of throwing their jig, or offense, into your shoreline, thick, weedy cover. Be respectful, avoid confrontation, but at all costs, never change who you are as an outdoorsman or woman, because often an insecurity, in someone, will attach itself to something where no harm, or hurt, was ever intended.
Hugs, Handshakes and Happy Hunting!
