Tune in to this week's broadcast of The Revolution with Jim and Trav as the guys talk whitetails with Jeff Danker of "BuckVentures". He'll discuss the Big Buck Work he is putting in right now during the off season to help improve his chances of success this fall. Plus, he'll touch on some of the highlights of the previous hunting season, including how his decoy "Joey" helped him tag several great bucks.
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, the guys are taking a closer look at the food supply chain and the sustainable, wild food that America's commercial fishermen provide to consumers. Tommy Gomes is the host of "The Fishmonger" on Outdoor Channel. He's a native San Diegan and a 4th generation commercial fisherman hailing from a long line of professional tuna fishermen. At one point in time, San Diego was the "Tuna Capital of the World", but by the mid 1980's that industry all but collapsed. Since that time, Tommy has worked in different areas of the seafood industry, but has been especially interested in educating the public about local and sustainable seafood, promoting responsible fishing practices and zero-waste consumption.
The spring weather is anything but stable or predictable and that can make fishing a challenge. So while he waits for Mother Nature to balance out a bit, CatDaddy is setting his sights on spoonbill fishing down in Oklahoma.
Spoonbills are also known as American paddlefish and they are prehistoric fish. The species is older than the dinosaurs with fossils indicating their existence 300 million years ago. Oklahoma happens to provide some of the best paddlefish fishing in the world and that's where CatDaddy is headed.
Nine out of ten Americans consume beef as a part of their regular diet. However, the overwhelming majority of those consumers don't know where that beef comes from or what it takes for producers to get cattle to the market and onto their plate. Although some television shows that depict the ranching lifestyle have become more popular in recent years, there is still a deficit in knowledge surrounding the actual experience of the American cattle producer. "Ranch America" is a new series airing on Outdoor Channel, Mondays at 9:30 pm ET that shows viewers just what it takes to produce delicious American raised beef.
A few years ago, Randy Birdsong co-purchased a piece of property he calls, The Raven, in Missouri with his brother Cody and friend Dustin Reece. Together, they've worked hard to turn this property into a whitetail mecca through improvement and management projects. This ground is now the battlefield in the new series, "King of the Raven" on Outdoor Channel, Tuesdays at 10:30 pm ET.
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, we're drifting the flats with CatDaddy. Although the calendar doesn't say it's officially spring yet, patterns are beginning to shift and the catfish are moving into the flats to chase shad. Now is the time to get out and do some productive early spring fishing! CatDaddy is using fresh cut shad, several poles and covering a lot of water. The outcome is productive fishing as he cashes in on a more steady bite thanks to more favorable weather.
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, the guys are joined by outdoorsman extraordinaire Gregg Ritz for an extended interview. Gregg is the host of "Hunt Masters" on Outdoor Channel, Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET. He'll take us from the whitetail woods of Illinois to the tundra of Alaska, down to the mountains of Mexico and finally to Cajun crawfish country in Louisiana!
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, the guys are joined by Nicole Reeve, co-host of "Driven with Pat and Nicole" on Outdoor Channel, Tuesdays at 9:30 pm ET.
Nicole and Pat are fresh off of the Safari Club International (SCI) Convention that was held in Nashville, Tennessee. SCI is a leader in protecting the freedom to hunt as well as an advocate and promoter of wildlife conservation worldwide. The annual convention draws vendors and exhibitors from around the world. Attendees can book hunts, shop, meet with guides and outfitters, explore new products, view wildlife taxidermy displays, paintings, and bronzes from wildlife artists and much more. This year, the show paid homage to the women that participate in and represent hunting and conservation. Nicole discusses her takeaways from the SCI Convention and the enthusiasm of this year's attendees. She also highlights a hunt that was auctioned off at the convention that gave one woman the opportunity to hunt bears with her and elite fighter pilot Michelle Curran.
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, dive into whitetail talk with Matt Drury of Drury Outdoors. The Drury Outdoors team produces great outdoor television hunting content like "Winchester and Drury's Natural Born" on Sportsman Channel, Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET, in addition to several other great shows that air on both Sportsman Channel and Outdoor Channel.
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, we're headed to the Brooks Range of Alaska as Chris Keefer discusses the brand new season of "Dropped" on Outdoor Channel.
"Dropped" with the Keefer brothers first debuted 12 years ago when Chris and Casey put boots on the ground in the Brooks Range of Alaska with the goal of living off the land for 30 days. They wanted to document and show what it was like, on a day to day basis, living off the land and surviving in that kind of environment. Since then, they have filmed 10 more seasons in different locations. In each instance, the duo are dropped in a remote location where they must survive and live off the land. The conditions are often harsh, their resources are always limited and they have to rely on each other and their bush savvy skill sets in order to overcome the challenges in front of them.
