Lucas has been doing an extensive amount of traveling as he films for the third season of "GSM's Hoge Wild". His adventures have taken him to Belize, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Alaska, South Africa and more. Lucas details his trip to South Africa where he spent time exploring the country, which happened to include a brief chase by a rhino - an exciting, yet dangerous moment. While there, Lucas was able to dedicate nine days to hunting and ended up successfully taking a "majestic" waterbuck, impala, Cape buffalo, red lechwe and even a once endangered bontebok. Part of what makes hunting in this region so special is the ability to give back to the local people, he notes. The meat they harvested was processed and Lucas was then able to deliver and donate it to charities and local people in need. One thing many people don't think about when hunting internationally is the lengthy and often complicated process of having your trophies shipped back home. Lucas highlights a really interesting company called, "Trophy Scan" that is changing the game when it comes to taxidermy. This company provides you the technology to take a digital scan of the animal you harvest and then send those specs back to them to have it printed in 3D to make an exact replica of the animal you scanned. This technology could be particularly intriguing for those that may want to dart an animal instead of killing it, he says, or as a work around for complicated import/export issues between countries when it comes to getting your trophies back home.
He also highlights some of the incredible fishing he has experienced this year both in Costa Rica, where he was able to catch sailfish and rooster fish, as well as in Alaska where he hooked into Pacific salmon, halibut, lingcod and rockfish.
