In portions of the country that have seen a lot of rain recently, high water can signal a great opportunity to catch big catfish. CatDaddy says the rivers in Northeastern Kansas are high and the lakes are 4 to 7 feet above stage right now. The influx of water has created the perfect conditions to catch monster catfish with some simple techniques and bait. Now is a great time to set limb lines and log lines, CatDaddy says, and when placed right you can catch some big ol' hogs. The best place to look for these big cats is in the regularly shallow areas, but where the water is up much higher now. The fish are back there feeding right now, he says, and they are feeding on worms. The tried and true nightcrawler is catfisherman's best bait choice right now. When the water rises, worms head for the surface and catfish will pluck them out of the soggy banks. Get out on that water, tie on some night crawlers and hang on to your pole because CatDaddy says he is anticipating catfish in excess of 75 pounds to hit right now.
Listen in as CatDaddy lays out the groundwork for finding and landing big catfish, this week on The Revolution.
