It's cool to be back with "Country Outdoors LIVE" for another season, Nick says. The first season kicked off last year as the pandemic began to shut down the country and as a result, the live artist performances on the show were all done via Zoom. Nick says with the show now in its second season, and in a less restrictive COVID environment, it has begun to take on a new life. To have the show go from Zoom performances to a really cool and highly produced format with live from Nashville kind of shows has been fun, he says. This season of "Country Outdoors LIVE" is stacked with amazing artists, he says, like Tim Montana, Travis Denning, Drake White, and LOCASH. Each show is also followed by a "Facebook Live" interview hosted by Nick and his co-host Mary O'Neill Phillips where fans can interact with the artists.
Stepping outside of the music world, Nick is also an outdoor enthusiast and the host of "Nick's Wild Ride" airing on Outdoor Channel. The all new 6th season will kick off this September and Nick says he has some really cool things to share with viewers. It's the same "Nick's Wild Ride'' that you've come to expect from the previous five seasons, he says, but the hunting is being stepped up a notch. Nick says this season's adventures will include whitetail hunting, turkey hunting, Montana elk hunting, desert sheep hunting in Mexico, Marco Polo Sheep hunting in Kyrgyzstan, African hunting pursuits and much more.
Circling back to his Sonora, Mexico desert bighorn sheep hunt, Nick talks more about the hunt itself but also a great conservation and reintroduction effort by a family in the area that has helped bolster the population there and restore sheep to areas where they have been absent from for more than 70 years. Nick says it's an incredible story and says their story has a lot of parallels with the reintroduction of elk into Kentucky, an effort he says he considers one of the greatest conservation stories of this modern age.
