The upcoming Turkey-Bass Smash, a friendly competition held by Yamaha’s Marine and Outdoor divisions featuring teams of professional anglers, racers and more. The event is a two-day tournament in Texas with one day focusing on turkey hunting in the brush country and the final day held on the water of Lake Amistad. The tournament is judged on a point system that totals up the scores of turkey weights, beards, and spur lengths as well as any bonus and penalty points earned along the way. The fishing portion is scored on a five fish limit with points for total weight, biggest fish and more. At the end of the two-day event, points are added together and a winner is named. The winning two-man team gets bragging rights, a photo with the Turkey-Bass Smash trophy and the opportunity to defend their title the following year. Scott says he and teammate Wade Middleton have won the past two tournaments and are looking forward to defending their title this spring. Listen in as he discusses the scouting and preparation they put in for the event as well as the equipment, like the fleet of Yamaha side-by-sides, they use to give them the best possible edge in the field.
